On July 30, members of Indian River County law enforcement made 18 felony arrests of individuals who ranged in ages from 19 to 59. The scope of the crimes saw 11 of the 18 arrested for drug-related offenses and four others brought in on charges connected to battery of an individual.
With the drug offenses, all 11 of those arrested were brought in for possession-related matters. Four were connected to cocaine, while four others related to aspects of THC. In the latter instances, one arrest was for simple THC possession, while two others were for possession of THC oil and wax, respectively. In the case of a 27-year-old woman from Palm Bay, she was also charged with resisting arrest with violence.
Two other drug arrests involved a 34-year-old man and 39-year-old woman who each were possessing methamphetamine. Finally, one arrest came when a 37-year-old woman was arrested for possession of diazepam.
The spectrum of battery cases ranged from child abuse, simple and domestic battery, and battery on a detained person. The domestic crime was committed by strangulation. The three remaining crimes were for grand theft, retail theft in concert with others and a violation of probation for trespassing a conveyance.
