Authorities in Vero Beach arrested a 20-year-old man involved in a drug-related shooting last week. The man shot another 28-year-old man after the drug deal went bad, according to Indian River County Sheriff’s Office.

The shooting occurred at the intersection of Greenway Trail and Indian River Blvd around 11 a.m., according to the sheriff’s office. The shooting victim allegedly got into shooter’s vehicle to purchase marijuana. After the transaction, the man was shot in the back after exiting the vehicle, according to deputies.

The victim is expected to survive.

The shooter is being held on first-degree murder charges at the Indian River County Jail. His bond is $1 million.
