Woman Burns Girl, 5, with Cigarette in Drug-Filled Hotel Room

Saint Lucie possession of drug paraphernalia attorneyOn Friday, August 4, 2017, a woman from the Port St. Lucie area of Florida was arrested at a hotel room in Boynton Beach. The hotel room was a mess and contained a variety of drugs and drug paraphernalia. In addition, a little girl of only five years of age was found in the room with a cigarette burn mark on her right arm, according to the arrest report made by the police.

The little girl gave Boynton Beach police the name of the woman and said that she was burned. The woman is from Port St. Lucie and allegedly burned the girl’s arm after the child got into her way. It is unknown what the relationship between the woman and the child is and the arrest report does not mention details of the relationship or if there even is one.

The woman, who is 36 years of age, was arrested and now faces a myriad of charges that range from possession of drug paraphernalia, child abuse and child neglect with great bodily harm. She was arrested and held at the Palm Beach County Jail in Florida and was subsequently released on Sunday, August 6, 2017, after she posted her bond, which amounted to $10,000.

The police responded to a call and came to a room that the woman was renting at the Homing Inn located at 2821 S. Federal Highway, which is south of Woolbright Road. There were several complaints made by people who claimed that somebody was both cooking and selling narcotics, according to the police report.

At the moment that the police stepped into the room, the immediately noticed a variety of drug paraphernalia that is commonly used to abuse crack cocaine littered all over the place. In addition, according to the police report, there were a few crack pipes found in the woman’s purse.

When the police came into the hotel room, they noticed the little girl asleep on a bed. An investigator from the Department of Children and Families took the child into custody.
