Florida Woman Allegedly Punches Landlord Over Missing Crack Pipe

Vero Beach Criminal LawyerLast weekend, a Vero Beach woman started an altercation that ultimately lead to her arrest. The woman’s landlord claimed that he was beaten by her because she thought that he stole her crack pipe. The arrest affidavit explains that the woman lost her crack pipe, so she assumed her landlord took it away from her.

The victim says that the Vero Beach woman hit him in the jaw without any warning because of the missing crack pipe. He fled to his bedroom, but the woman pursued him and continued punching him, cursing at him, and tugging on his hair until deputies arrived. The woman was arrested and charged with battery. She eventually posted bond and was released from jail, and the woman now needs a Vero Beach criminal lawyer for her upcoming battery trial.

It is currently unknown if the woman will also face charges for the crack pipe which still has not been found by investigators. However, Florida laws state that a person may face up to one year in jail and a $1000 fine for possession of drug paraphernalia. The Vero Beach woman started the fight because she wanted her crack pipe back, but if it is actually found, even a very good drug paraphernalia possession criminal lawyer might not be enough to prevent additional charges from being filed against the woman.

The battery charges that the Vero Beach woman is facing come with a possible penalty of up to one year in jail, probation of 12 months, or a $1,000 fine. Depending on individual circumstances and the resulting injuries, penalties for battery can vary wildly. However, these types of cases usually rely on conflicting witness statements, so a talented battery criminal lawyer can often get a person a reduced sentence if they are convicted.
