Note: Jeffrey H. Garland was hired to “deal with” a case where the Defendant had already been convicted. Attorney Garland successfully filed a motion for post conviction relief based on the failure of a public defender intern to tell the client he was not a lawyer. Once the plea was set aside, the State was forced to drop it, because no notice of suspension had been sent. This approach was necessary, because the defendant was on felony probation for aggravated battery.
